For people looking for an additional activity when visiting Be’er Sheva or for people interested in teaching their kids about tallit/tefillin, I definitely recommend a tour of the Mishkan Hatechelet visitors center in Be’er Sheva. It is a massive tallit/tefillin factory in Be’er Sheva – the whole visit is about an hour including two nice videos, close-up tour in the factory, and a beautiful gift shop. I was very impressed and learned a lot, very surprised that more people don’t know about this place. It was easy to arrange – just called and reserved a family tour – something like 15 nis per adult. And, even though it is a “religious” facility, we felt comfortable not being dressed “religiously.”
