‘My children Taylor and Austin have arrived home and they have been telling us some of the stories of their trip with Taglit, with Aryeh, my wife Donna and I are so impressed with their experience. My son Austin and my daughter Taylor have had a life changing experience they feel connected with Isreal in a way that is deep and spiritiual. I want to thank you for the time you spent teaching them about their culture (I am Christian their mother is Jewish), I always felt that I failed them in providing them with a connection to a religion, I am not a practicing Catholic anymore. It pleases me to hear them identify themselves as Jews and understand in a meaningful way what that actually means. Both of my children mentioned you over and over and you should know that you had a profound affect on their outlook. Thank you so much for taking the time to teach them and to enrich their lives. My wife and I hope to go to Israel some day, maybe after we get these kids out of college, it would be my pleasure to meet you and your family my children where quite impressed with you and I would like to meet the man who had such an effect on my children.’

Our Services

Families and Individuals

Let WalkingIsrael arrange your Israel trip of a lifetime. Whether it is a one-day excursion to Jerusalem or Masada, an overnight to the Galilee, or a multi-day trip from north to south and east to west, we can put together an itinerary which will create memories and experiences to be remembered for years to come.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Tutoring via Skype

I have been preparing B’nai Mitzvah students for their big day since 1995. Whether it is Torah reading, Haftarah, leading services, organizing and delivering a speech, or learning a Jewish value, your child will be excited about becoming a Jewish adult. Weekly video lessons on Skype (with Share Your Screen technology) will make your child look forward to Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation. References available upon request.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah Tours

What better way to celebrate coming of age as a Jewish adult than to visit the Jewish homeland? Whether the ceremony is outside of Israel, at the Western Wall, on top of Masada, or anyplace else in the country, make this special time one to remember by coming to Israel. We’ll travel to many of the most popular destinations, as well as some places even some experienced Israel visitors have never heard of! Wherever we go, you and your child will look back on this trip with fond memories for years to come.

Walk Your Parsha / Walk Your Haftarah

Would you like to stand where Abraham saw the destruction of Sodom? How about where David slayed Goliath? Where Joshua made the sun and the moon stand still? WalkingIsrael will take you to the actual places where these events took place. Visit the sites you read about in your parsha, haftarah, or speech, and make your Bar/Bat Mitzvah really come alive!

Jewish Groups

Sukkot / Pesach Educational Packages

As a former pulpit rabbi, day school teacher, and Judaic Studies director, I can deliver Torah lectures, lead communal seders, present classes, and organize Jewish programming for all ages. I have experience teaching to elementary-, high school-, and college-age students, as well as adults and seniors. Topics include:

Judaism and the Death Penalty Can one be a good Jew and not be a vegetarian? Why was Moses really forbidden to enter the Promised Land? Bible stories which challenge our sense of morality And more! During the holiday, let’s make like Israelis, and go on a hike! From the Negev to the Golan, from the Jordan Valley to the coastal plain, WalkingIsrael will plan an exciting holiday trip to meet your group’s interests and needs.

Synagogues and organizations

When your synagogue or Jewish organization wants to visit Israel, WalkingIsrael will tailor an itinerary which will excite your guests. Learn about the security challenges Israel faces, and marvel at how far Israel has come in its short existence. Whether it is hiking in the Golan, exploring Masada, floating in the Dead Sea, or being uplifted at Kabbalat Shabbat at the Kotel, your group will have an Israel experience which is both educational and inspiring.
