‘While they have done Bar Mitzvahs for a while, we held one of the first orthodox Bat Mitzvah ceromonies run by the Western Wall Heritage Foundation. They were helpful, showed us around and went through all the options to help us formulate our ideal ceremony. Our whole family enjoyed the ceremony which included a short tour of the tunnels and then a ceremony in a huge hall under the Kotel. Our daughter felt empowered on her special day, and to make it extra special, the candlestick she designed there was given to a holocaust survivor at a separate ceremony the Foundation runs for Holocaust survivors to finally have a Bar/BatMitzvah. We were happy that she received an official certificate for holding her Bat Mitzvah at the Kotel, and felt the whole experience was uplifting and very unique.’
