What's Happening for Yom Yerushalayim 2021?

Yom Yerushalayim יום ירושלים falls on Monday May 10, 2021. This year we celebrate 54 years since the reunification of Jerusalem.

Festive Prayers at the Kotel


When? 9.5.2021

From: 19:30

No Yom Yerushalayim celebration would be the same without the traditional festive prayer service at the Western Wall. You can of course watch it live on the Western Wall Facebook page.


The Flag March Returns!


Named the 'ריקודגלים' in Hebrew, meaning 'flag dance', this march through the streets of Jerusalem has been an annual occurrence with people from all over Israel joining together amongst hundreds of Israeli flags.

The march begins on King George Street and travels along to the gates of the Old City of Jerusalem right up to the Kotel.

They expect 10,000s of people to join - with no registration or payment required.


Schedule:

15:45 - Women starting point on Rechov Betzalel

16:00 - Men starting point on King George Street

17:30 - Start walking towards the Old City

19:00 - Reach the Kotel for a ceremony


National Ceremony For Jerusalem Day


The ceremony will include the President, Prime Minister, Mayor of Jerusalem, ministers and other dignitaries and officers.

The ceremony will include a special art show and the lighting of six torches in honor of the liberators of the city of Jerusalem, as well as speeches by the President, Prime Minister and Mayor of Jerusalem.

The event will feature awesome Israeli artists: Aviv Alush, Agam Bohbot, Eliad Nahum, Noa Kirel, Nurit Hirsch, Eden Meiri, a dance troupe and musicians.

Also, during the ceremony, a special clip filmed throughout Jerusalem will be screened with a new song written in honor of the city by Noam Horev, composed by Tomer Hadadi and sung by Omar Adam.

Due to Corona's limitations, you must register for the event in advance by emailing office@g-h.org.il.

Events at Givat Hatachmoshet - Ammunition Hill


The Ammunition Hill site is the perfect place to visit on Jerusalem Day and mark the unification of the city. On the occasion of the upcoming Jerusalem Day, the site will open its gates to the general public.

During the activity days, the site will reopen between the hours: 18: 00-23: 00 by reservations only. According to Tav Sagol.

Tower of David


Join the Tower of David Museum for a celebration of the unification of Jerusalem that will be spread over an entire week!

The museum will offer various visiting packages on Jerusalem Day.

The day's package will include a magical tour of Nachlaot, an independent tour accompanied by an audio guide at the builders' exhibition at the museum and also a treat to finish of coffee and pastries.

The Hebrew Music Museum


The Hebrew Music Museum invites parents and children to experience the history of Hebrew music on a tour around the museum.


This Jerusalem day you can join a guided tour where we will listen to the story of the musical instruments in each display, about the people who used to play them, about the countries and cultures from which they came and of course you can also experience playing for yourself! (Do not worry, no need to take music lessons before, just reach out to us). You can also choose to tour independently with a tablet and headphones you will receive at the front desk and get to know the animated guide 'Grandpa Levy' who will guide you at your own pace through musical instruments, games and videos (tablet will be given to children aged 10 and over).
