Israel is a family friendly place, and there are dozens of festivals and events all-year round that are designed to entertain families with kids. Having a big family can be a challenge, and keeping a wide range of ages enthralled is a feat! The Jerusalem Light Festival

The Jerusalem Light Festival has proved to be a thorough success for the last couple of years. Held in Jerusalem’s scenic Old City towards the end of spring, the Light Festival runs for about a week. It’s a free event and is great for kids and the whole family — each year they have different exhibits and shows, so there’s always something new to see.

Festivals of Festivals in Haifa

In the multi-religion city of Haifa, December is a big festive month for Judaism, Christianity and Islam, which each celebrate different religious festivals. The Festivals of Festivals brings all three together in a festival which hosts an Antique Fair, offers special authentic foodstuffs prepared by residents of Wadi Nisnas, and features music by artists of all religious backgrounds. The event is held in the Arab Wadi Nisnas neighborhood and is free to the general public. This is a great event for the whole family, as one which symbolizes the values of coexistence, living together in peace and harmony, and mutual respect of all religions in the city.
