Purim Fun in Israel 2017

Purim officially starts on Saturday night, 11th March but Purim in Israel really starts from the beginning of the month of Adar as the schools start getting festive and the dressing up shops sell out. Most importantly, Purim means we finally have a day or two we can take off with our families for some Purim fun!

Here is a list of some of the fun things going on around the country but check this list again as more will be added as events are publicized. You can be sure that most attractions

will have something going on but here are just a few ideas!

Tel Aviv and Center areas:

Watch an amazing show at the Yaron Theater Festival run by The Orna Porat Theater for Children and Youth. Shows include Mulan, The Gruffalo, Sherlock Holmes and Goldilocks and the 3 Bears (all in Hebrew) and are showing from 11-13th March at The Tel Aviv Art Museum.

Go to the Tachana on 12/3 and 13/3 for free purim entertainment at 11 and 12:30 including outdoor performances, juggling, bubbles, arts and crafts and more.

At Sarona, dress up Latino style for a Latino dance party on 9/3 from 21:00 at the rollerskating rink. On shabbat and Sunday enjoy street performances, music along Rechov David Elazar from 11:00. On Shabbat there will also be circus acts and trapeze from 11:00. On Sunday, enjoy fun drum circles! There will also be arts and crafts all weekend by the big playground.

Tel Aviv Port on 12/3 from 10:00 will be running a ‘Wipeout’ style activity, hula hoop party, Drums Alive, arts and crafts, trampolines, an acrobatics – fire throwing performance (3 performances throughout the day, lasting 45 mins).

Fat Boy Slim – one of the most well known British DJs will be playing at Hanger 11 in the Port for a massive Purim RAVE on 12/3!

North:

For a different but super fun day out get lost in the mazes in Emek Yizrael’s Mavoch BaEmek!

Technoda in Hadera looks set to be loads of fun with purim themed workshops! From 12-13th March, 9:00-16:00.

Madatech is running lots of fun events for Purim.

Jerusalem Area:

Jerusalem celebrates Purim on Shushan Purim, so if one day wasn’t enough, head to Jerusalem to keep celebrating!

12-13.3 Fun activities for Purim at Migdal David. 

The Science Museum will be running fun workshops during Purim as well.

Neot Kedumim will be running special tours along the theme of the Purim story on 12th March from 9:00-12:30.

Adloyada – Parades:

Holon – the largest parade celebrates 25 years and will take place on 12/3 from 12pm all along Sokolov Street, Hanesiim, Weizman and ending at Golomb. In conjunction with ‘Hop TV channel’ including 4500 dancers, Disney characters, acrobatics, street theater and more.

Tel Aviv – There are so many events going on in Tel Aviv so definitely worth clicking to find the event that suits your family best. Some free events include carnivals, parties, mask making, outdoor performances and music. There is no ‘parade’ as such.

Modiin – Friday 10/3 – Parade along Rechov Emek Hahula from 12:30 but events start at 11:00 with activities in the Hula Ampi and Park Hadagim.

Herzliya – in the town center on 12/3 at 10am

Raanana – Achuza Street – 16:00 on 8/3

Ashkelon – On 12/3 from Rechov Ben Gurion to the end of the Yerida to Park HaMayim, Ashkelona. 16:00-18:00.

Netanya – Fun for the young in Kikar Atzmaut on Friday 10/3. 12:00-15:00.
