NEW: Love Locks in Zichron Yaakov

You can find 'Love Locks' in many cities around the world. Now you can find the 'Love Corner' in Zichron Yaakov at a stunning and romantic lookout!

A love lock or love padlock is a padlock that sweethearts lock to a bridge, fence, gate, monument, or similar public fixture to symbolize their love.[1] Typically the sweethearts' names or initials, and perhaps the date, are inscribed on the padlock, and its key is thrown away (often into a nearby river) to symbolize unbreakable love.

Since the 2000s, love locks have proliferated at an increasing number of locations worldwide. They are now mostly treated by municipal authorities as litter or vandalism, and there is some cost to their removal. However, there are authorities who embrace them, and who use them as fundraising projects or tourist attractions.

As part of their on going efforts to bring visitors back to the area, Zichron Yaakov Tourism has just launched a special 'Love Corner'.

Location: Tzahal Street, the corner of Hagana. A stunning corner that must not be missed!

In keeping with the tradition of these 'love-locks' worldwide, you can find a secure place (arranged by the municipality) to position your mobile phone on one of the trees to enable you to take the perfect selfie shot with the incredible view in the background.

When lockdown rules allow, bring your lock and declare your endless love in Zichron Yaakov!

This project is led by residents and with the collaboration of the local council, the department of environmental quality and sustainability and Ramat Hanadiv.

Please keep it clean!
